Who didn’t feel just a little bit envious of Tom Cruise getting to play with the futuristic holigram screens in Minority Report using simple hand gestures?<\/p>\n

It looked cool didn’t it? Well the future is not that far away.<\/p>\n

Things have moved on since then and gesture-based gadgets (iPhone\/ iPod Touch & the iPad, to name just a few Apples plus the Wii) are growing in popularity. But these still are restricted to a 2-D plane largely.<\/p>\n

Well check out this video demo by Oblong Industries. Looks very much like the interfaces in Minority Report you think? Well, concidentally, that’s because Oblong is the company of John Underkoffler<\/a> who worked with Spielberg to create the interfaces used in the Precrime Lab for the movie.<\/p>\n

This demo is amazing. I am very excited by what is to come!<\/p>\n
