Yoda statue becomes a mecca for fans
A life-size statue of Yoda (Jedi master of The Force) in San Francisco has become a mecca for Star Wars.

The statue isn’t new, erected in Presidio national park in 2005, but has become an enormously popular point of homage for fans of George Lucas’ epic film franchise over the years.
Mater Yoda was one of the most renowned and powerful Jedi’s in galactic history. Known for his legendary wisdom, mastery of the Force and lightsaber combat, Yoda served as a member of the Jedi High Council in the last centuries of the Galactic Republic before, during and after the devastating Clone Wars.
Fans travel from all over the globe to have their pictures taken with Yoda, who sits atop a fountain of water in these beautiful gardens, within sight of the city’s Golden Gate Bridge. The site is also the location of Lucasfilm Ltd.’s impressive headquarters.

Lucasfilm is among several businesses and nonprofits that have relocated to the Presidio, former military base turned national park, overlooking the bay and the Pacific. Sadly, non-Jedi masters aren’t invited past the plush company lobby of Lucasfilm without an invitation.
Guess where I’m going next time I head to San Francisco!
